.Horses change shape as they move in and out of work. Even if they aren’t changing shape, they shift the saddle flocking through their movement. A recreational riding horse should have the saddle checked at least annually, a competition horse at least twice a year at beginning and end of season, and a growing horse should have it checked 3-4 times a year until maturity. This ensures the saddle is always working best for the horse at the moment.
We analyze fit on both English and Western saddles. We adjust flock for any wool filled saddles and change billets on most wool flocked saddles. If you have any question, feel free to send us pictures to review.
Each saddle fitting includes:
- a full rider and horse history
- a horse physical evaluation
- a saddle evaluation,
- a 4 point tracing
- a static fit evaluation
- and a dynamic fit evaluation.
If needed, small adjustments will be included. Test rides on our saddles are also included if desired.
We are happy to assess multiple saddles for the same horse and rider. Adjustments of additional saddles will require additional fees.
We do not consign used saddles directly, but we work in conjunction with Good Apple Equine Consignment in Ocala. We can help you shop for used saddles through their store or help arrange consignment for your old tack if you wish.
